Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Vice President for Enrollment and Campus Life
Job Purpose: To serve as the clinical nurse practitioner for the Center for Health and Wellness. To plan, develop, organize, coordinate, implement, administer, direct and evaluate the programs, operations, activities and staff of the Center for Health and Wellness. The Director will ensure appropriate and adequate levels of a variety of healthcare services and mental health services identified as the routine, chronic, urgent, and emergent healthcare issues of students; ensure compliance with local policies and applicable State and federal regulations related to healthcare and other assigned. The Director is a key member of the College’s emergency response team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate all personnel reporting to the Center for Health and Wellness. This includes full and part time registered nursing staff, part time psychiatrist, part time psychologist, part time nurse practitioners, part time counselors, part time medical assistants, and full time office manager.
- Determines needs and recommends policies, operating procedures, facilities and staffing within the Center for Health & Wellness;
- Demonstrates excellent clinical decision making ability and commitment to patient care and patient education
- Conduct outpatient evaluation and management of undergraduate and graduate student; provide medical triage, diagnosis and treatment of acute episodic health problems including well women and well men’s healthcare to a diverse student population
- Focus on Primary care, preventative care, identification of health risks and management of chronic medical conditions
- Provides for emergency and, as appropriate within existing policy, on-going medical treatment of students;
- Provides emergency treatment for college personnel and/or visitors;
- Maintains liaison with local medical and health organizations;
- Ensures the proper collection, evaluation, utilization and maintenance of all medical records on students currently enrolled;
- Through membership on various campus committees and by contact with major campus administrators serves as an advisor on student health and safety education as regards all aspects of the campus environment.
- Provides team leadership to community in emergency management preparedness policy
- Collaborate on health and wellness education outreach program initiatives in conjunction with the nursing, physician assistant, and occupational therapy programs.
- Compile and analyze data related to program participation and evaluation; prepare and submit a variety of statistical and narrative reports; prepare budget reports, annual recap data and special reports, proposals, recommendations and other materials as requested; coordinate and respond to periodic audits and program reviews.
- Oversight of Student Health Insurance, NYS Immunization Compliance, Compliance with NYCDOH Immunization Reports, Compliance with NYCDOH CIR, Compliance with NYSDOH Immunization Reports, Compliance with NYCDOH Clinical Laboratory License for CLIA, etc.
- Collaborate with members of a multidisciplinary team, including Campus Life Team, Athletics, Dean of Disabilities, Residential Education
Non-Essential Functions
- Supervise and precept Nurse Practitioner Students
- Coordinate with centralized labs
- Coordinate with local pharmacies

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- ANP or FNP-C form an accredited institution
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, preferably in higher education, urgent care or an emergency department
- 3 Years experience in College Health preferred
- Experience or courses in Adolescent Medicine and an ability to work in an interdisciplinary campus atmosphere are desirable.
Certifications: - Advanced National Credentialing Certificate
- Must Have NYS Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Must be eligible for DEA/NYSDOH prescriptive authority
- Must have NPI
- Must have DEA/ NYSDOH
- CPR certification
Licenses:
- New York State license, Registered Nurse
- New York State Registered Professional Advanced Practice Nurse License

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000.
