We are a busy interventional pain practice seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with spine, orthopedics, and/or neurology experience to join our growing healthcare team. In this position, you will provide direct patient care, discussing patient symptoms and concerns and performing thorough examinations to diagnose their medical problem, ordering tests/x-rays, determining a diagnosis, and developing a treatment plan for the patients. You will monitor your patient’s health during follow-up visits and adjust the treatment plan as necessary. Our goal is to ensure our patients receive the best care possible in managing their illnesses or chronic health issues. When required, you will collaborate with our physicians to treat for more advanced illnesses or injuries. Our ideal candidate has a current Florida license to practice and at least two years of physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology pain management or ortho experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Discuss symptoms with patients and perform a thorough examination
- Order x-rays and lab tests and analyze them for diagnosis
- Administer medications and immunizations
- Communicate with patients on appointment scheduling and treatment progress
- Keep thorough records of all patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments
- Perform physical examinations and screenings of patients
- Order and administer tests including bloodwork
- Review and interpret test results to diagnose health problems
- Recommend further treatment options or future appointments if needed
- Provide referrals to other practitioners/physical therapy when necessary
- Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families
- Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
Requirements and Qualifications
- If an NP, Master's degree in nursing
- If an NP, current state nurse practitioner license
- If a PA, completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- 2+ years of spine, orthopedics, and/or neurology experience
- Understands HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Able to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and other nurses
- Proficient in EHR medical charting system and computer-based data management programs and information systems
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of compassion and personal ethics
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
